Jaboticaba or Guapuru (Plinia cauliflora), also called Brazilian Vine, Jabotica, Guaperu, Hivapuru, Sabará or Ybapuru, is a species of small fruit trees native to the region of Minas Gerais, in southeastern Brazil.
Jaboticaba is an exceptional fruit tree little known in France that can reach 15 meters high.

Jaboticaba is an exotic fruit that contains few calories and carbohydrates but high amounts of vitamins C and E. It is also rich in folic acid, niacin, thiamin and riboflavin. Brazilian grapes also contain minerals such as potassium, calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, copper, manganese, and zinc.
Recognized for its medicinal properties, jaboticaba has been used in particular for generations as a dermatological treatment: its richness in vitamin C naturally plumps the epidermis.

Planted in a garden, Jaboticaba prefers moist, slightly acidic soils, but it adapts very easily even to alkaline and sandy substrates when cared for and irrigated. Planted outdoors, therefore place your Jaboticaba in a humid place and if possible near a water source.

Jaboticaba can also be grown in pots. Indeed, the Brazilian fruit tree is often cultivated indoors as an ornamental plant or as a bonsai. Planted in a pot, jaboticaba can also give you fruit if properly cared for, even indoors.

Jaboticaba can grow in sand as well as in very rich soils, but does not support salty soils. Grown indoors, Jaboticaba can be planted in a pot in a soil for Mediterranean plants. However, it is important to add 12-12-17 type fertilizer diluted in water to the tune of 3 grams of fertilizer per liter of water depending on its size so that it develops faster and beautiful fruiting bodies.

Outdoors, it is possible to plant Jaboticaba in the south of France where negative temperatures are rare.
Indoors, growing in a pot will not be a problem if given moderate to full sun and moderate heat.
