characteristics:
- Blue Japanese maples is one of the most popular trees in the garden.

- with great adaptability, cold resistance

The Japanese bonsai blue maple is planted in the spring once frost has passed into a moderately deep pot with low acid soil. It should be placed in the shade or half-shade all year except in spring and autumn where it can be in full light which will improve its vigor and the color of its leaves. In summer, exposure in the sun could cause burns at the end of the leaves. However, too shady a location can result in large leaves and long internodes, which is not very aesthetic. Therefore, from March to June, place your bonsai in full sun, then put it in partial shade in July-August. In winter, protect it from frost like other hardwoods, as these trees are moderately resistant to cold.
For watering, proceed in the traditional way: water abundantly and let the soil dry between two waterings to prevent it from losing its leaves.
Give it bonsai fertilizer throughout the growing season, from March until the fall of its leaves in autumn and reduce the doses in July and August. Repot your bonsai every 2 or 3 years and more rarely when the tree is older. Maple bonsai has a relatively slow growth.
