Lemon Seeds - Fruit Tree
20 seeds of lemon tree

The lemon tree (or critrus limon) is planted during the spring season outside frost periods in well-drained, fresh, sandy and rich soil. It tolerates acidic or neutral soils but not calcareous soils. If it is planted in plain earth, it must be placed at 4.50m on all sides for its good development and so it can become centenary. It must be exposed to the sun and sheltered from cold winds and frosts because the lemon tree does not tolerate temperatures below -5 ° C, so it is better not to plant it in open ground in regions with harsh winters because it needs a mild climate or hot and dry. It does not support drought so it is necessary to water regularly despite the fact that it requires only little maintenance. During spring frosts, protect it with a wintering veil to avoid damaging young shoots that will appear in summer. It can also be planted in pots as an orangery plant.
If you want to grow your lemon tree in a pot, it is advisable to water regularly, leaving the soil to dry between two periods of watering, and to add a citrus fertilizer every month. As winter approaches, return to a cold greenhouse or a bright, cool room.
